So last night we did an LFR and I was on my Paladin tanking. A tanking shield dropped and one of the dps warriors whispers me asking for it. I ignore him, he asks again. I still ignore him and he starts swearing at me.
Being the person I am, I decided to engage him with civil conversation, the upshot of which was that I was too low item level to be in LFR (I am 373 and I was offtanking with Hung main tanking so whatever there, dude) and I should run more Hour of Twilight.
It was bugging me a bit after we finished, so yes, I decided to run a dungeon on my paladin. I got Well of Eternity. On the first boss, the tanking 1h mace dropped! I was very excited, as that is still one of the 359s I'm wearing.
Then the DPS DK wins the roll.
His reason for why he rolled is that he was replacing a blue 1h tanking weapon. The conversation did not go well after that. (To my credit, I was doing this while continuing to tank and finish the instance.)
I hate people. I hate people so much.
(And then I got two more pieces of healing gear on the other bosses, dammit WoW I will not heal on a fourth character, I want to tank!)

I've been there and have pretty much ignore the LFR people unless I need to put on my "do what I say so we can finish and I can leave" hat. As for the dk he's a dick.

That's a flippin' huge post, but look about half way down (I couldn't find a direct link). There's a long blue post about the new LFR loot system. From what I understand, loot doesn't "drop" on the boss, people are chosen to get loot and they are given class & spec appropriate loot. How people are chosen for loot is still to be determined.
I like the reasoning behind the new loot system. The blue said it was in part due to asshats like you ran into, but mostly because of the speed in which LFR runs go. People have no time to determine if dropped loot is good for them. By the time they get a chance to look at the loot, half the raid is on the next boss. I found this to be true. I usually look to see the 'need' button is active. If it's lit, I look for primary stats for my main or offspec and click need. I do not have time to determine if the stat mix is better or worse than what I am wearing.
The rest of the post is about the press event for MoP. Worth reading, but not on-topic.
