25M heroics, or Firelands?

Post by Texaporte »

So last night, we tried our first taste of 25M heroic modes. It was tough, but we got better as time went on.

So here's the question: would you rather be doing heroic 25M modes, or would you rather start working on the first couple bosses of Firelands, with all the trash associated with them?

After last night, I'd think we can do better with Firelands bosses, at least when we're out of normal T11 bosses for the night.
We were getting better, sure, and maybe after 2 drakes dead things would get easier... but for how best to use our time, we'll get more upgrades for those who need them, and valors, doing full clears.

Blizz has often said, heroic modes are for those groups that clear normal mode the first week and are looking for more of a challenge. You know, "hard modes are hard" kinda stuff. From that, I figure that our "casual" progression is to move into Firelands, though still feeling that our 25m group needs to farm Nef/Cho'gall/Al'akir.

I agree with the Firelands sentiment. Given that heroic mode is, in many cases, significantly harder than normal mode, for not much more reward, I say we continue with the casual progression and keep up on Firelands, so that when patch 4.3 rolls around, we're hopefully positioned to take on the final Deathwing raid.

I also agree that farm runs on BWD, BoT and TotFW should continue to keep gearing people up and getting those achievements. I'm pretty sure that there are a large number of people now, me included, that are on Al'Akir kills away from the Defender title.

I'd prefer firelands stuff as well, and will gladly conscript puggers to clear up the more stuff in BWD and BoT

I wouldn't mind trying 10m heroics of BoT and BWD sometimes, but I agree with the above sentiments for our 25m progression.

I should also add, this is a shift for me- I wasn't in favor of doing 25m Firelands at all before. Now, I think that we could try a couple bosses, after doing a clear of one of BWD/BoT/ToFW if we have time left over. It would be a good gauge of our 25m progression, by how much time we'd spend doing a clear (pre-clears of BoT very OK), then to have the time to do Firelands. But, we still need to push 10m Firelands progression so that we learn all the lessons on bossfights. To that end, I really like that we've spent a couple hours on Sundays for that. Not even complaining about having missed Black Temple for a few weeks now. ^_~

I'm all up for taking on Firelands. I'd also love to finish off getting my Defender title at some point (TotFW). That's second to guild progression though.

I think Firelands might be worth it at this point. But we should still keep farming the easy deeper in stuff in BoT and BWD for sure for gear and valors, we had a lot of stuff go to good use this week. The plus side to Firelands trash is, we now know what we can safely skip and what must be pulled. It would get more people rep since the first area is where you have the massive amount of trash. So that's guaranteed 2 upgrades for everyone who's still neutral. If we could down Shannox in 25m it would also mean meaning Thursday (or even the weekend 10 mans if we start getting 25 on Thursdays) could hammer on the deeper in progression bosses with less time clearing and more dying to bosses.
