I haaaate this fight. It scares me. Lets brainstorm what we can do better/differently so it doesn't scare me any longer.
Thought 1: 10 man (phase1) is way easier because there's only 3 adds at a time to deal with (opposed to 7) and they're all grouped up.
Question: is there a good reason why we're keeping them appart? (could we try to group them up? Is AOE good against them?)
Thought 2: I have a hard time tanking multiple caster adds.
Question: how much dmg do those caster adds do? (i've read strats were they're not tanked at all)
Thought 3: We need to completely down each wave before the next one spawns. Besides the simple overwhelming nature of the fight, the resurrected adds will make this increasingly difficult over time. If we can't finish all 7 adds before the next wave, we're heading for a wipe.
Question: how long do we have to burn each waves? (bosskillers states ~40 seconds)
Suggestion: All dps on adds. DPS against shield when all adds are down. we can dedicate dps against shield when we're able to down each wave with time to spare.
Question: Are adds CC-able? (bosskillers says YES~!)
Suggestion: if yes, we should try and 2 tank this fight. 1 tank for each side, and CC the back add. 1 extra DPS could make the difference.
Discuss.

How long does the tank debuff last on 25-man? Will we need a 3-tank rotation for taunts, or is 2 enough for that?
Re: DeathWhisper 25
This is not a fully serious suggestion, but in the interest of theorycrafting I'm throwing it out there:
As per the S3D zerg method, 8 dps can do some 8M in 70 seconds, which is too long for the shield, makes about 3 waves of adds up. But with possibly 2.5x that many dps (20 ppl) in the 25-man raid, we might eke out (*math here*) 13.2M damage in 40 seconds. Which sounds very close to her shield value and the time limit. But it also risks having unmanagable adds and MC'd death-dealers up when the shield comes down.
More conservatively planned, what if we put the adds so near the boss as to use cleaving/aoe and get damage on the shield as well as the adds? Protect the healers/casters behind the boss, catch the adds coming in from the sides, and kite or taunt-pong the hulks?

It'd be a better plan without Death and Decay - we need to spread out as much as possible, I think. having more than 3 people caught in one D&D is really rough on the healers.Daewen wrote:More conservatively planned, what if we put the adds so near the boss as to use cleaving/aoe and get damage on the shield as well as the adds? @ dom's question: Touch of insignificance lasts 30secs. All it does is reduce the tanks' threat output (not existing threat) by 20% per application. Therefore having 1 stack of it is pretty harmless. Even if it applies itself faster than in 10 man, this debuff is not so scary that it forces a 3 tank rotation. Worse case scenario, DPS has to slow down for a few seconds while the tanks go to town.
@ the mass grouping getting owned by Lady D's D&D: this is probably why we can't group everyone too tightly. *my thought1 above*

Re: DeathWhisper 25
Actually some research online shows quite a few folks grouping everything near the boss. And doing quite well with it (in both 10 and 25 mode)
No one's mentioned problems from D&D so far.
Sounds like you place the entire raid behind the boss and let healer aggro draw in the adds.

Re: DeathWhisper 25
I would say that the caster adds do need to be tanked. They have a centered AoE that can do up to 13k a blast, a Shadow Bolt that can do up to 10k a piece, and they explode for 25k or so before they come back as the Reanimated Adherents.
Do we know how long it takes between add spawns?
