Topic: discuss.
We passed the gear check with more than 10 people (1 group did a full ToGC10 clear, and a partially different group did the first 4 bosses the week before).
Tanks: We have at least 4 tanks that are geared at a comparable level
Healers: we're probably still a bit low on healers (no idea what we'll need for ToGC25, 7 healers?)
DPS: The DPS in testament to skill did 6K-4K dps average (probably the minimum)
The DPS in the same week's regular ToC25, there are 10 DPS that did more than 4K (including 6 people that did more than 5K).
So... are we prepared?
And, if we were to make an attempt at it, when would we schedule it? Tuesday is full with Ony-25, VoA-25 and ToG25, and probably should remain that way.
How bout we conclude our saved ulduar raid ID this thursday, and attempt ToGC25 the following thursday?

Re: ToGC25: are we prepared?
Raw DPS isn't the sole issue - it's maintaining that DPS while running around screaming, because mental mistakes in ToGC will kill us all.
Here are the things we need everyone to have:
Northrend Beasts
- Gormok: raid DPS to beat Gormok before he starts one-shotting tanks (this actually happens pretty quickly)
- Twin Jormungar: Smart positioning to make sure you're never standing in front of a worm's mouth, and you don't chain Burning Bile/Paralytic Toxin too far . We actually lost Daewen to this in our last successful kill and were okay, but the margin of error is razor-thin because of...
- Icehowl: He does so much damage that we can't afford to take any extra. You MUST have a 100% dodge rate on his charge, and because of his enrage timer being very tight, we can't afford to have too many melee knocked back by Whirl.
Lord Jaraxxus
- FAST DPS switches to kill the portals. If the mistress portals spawn two adds, we will start losing people, guaranteed.
- Presence of mind to run out of inferno. If you stand in for more than 2 seconds, you will die, almost guaranteed.
- Knowledge of exactly where to go. Incinerate Flesh, stay in and keep attacking a target with Judgement of Light on it. Legion Flames, run immediately and don't run over anyone.
Faction Champions
- Probably the least changed from regular out of the lot. Same issues apply. Stay alive! Plus, the mobs are untauntable.
Twin Valkyrs
- Presence of mind to dodge balls PROactively, not REactively. The balls do WAY more damage on heroic, and the healers have a hard time just keeping up with tank damage and aura damage.
- Fast color switches. Stay near your portal when a special ability is about to come up, and change FAST. Don't just wait for me to call out a color, pay attention to your own DBM and switch. This is a slightly relaxed requirement for healers, since they only really need to switch for vortex.

Re: ToGC25: are we prepared?
I think our best way to check if people are prepared to move from normal to heroic is to do an amazing normal run, and measure up people by that. On one hand I'm also thinking that a normal run before a heroic run is a good warmup, and on the other I think that one heroic wipe is as good.
Also, we should make a list of exactly who needs what gear upgraded and make a focus on that- those of us who already have nearly all 245's are not going to have a good time in heroic 25 without sharing some effort to upgrade someone else's 200-226 gear. We're close to having distributed a trophy to nearly everyone who has attended, and between a 10 and 25 run those who need them can get a good 30 triumphs, and thus about another 5 pieces of 245 armor raid-wide.

Re: ToGC25: are we prepared?
My suggestion is that we should at least run a few more groups of ToGC10 with different people, before we throw the entire guild into ToGC25 just because 10 people have cleared ToGC10 once.
Re: ToGC25: are we prepared?
Have to agree with Camyu there. Clear ToGC10 for another month or two, preferably with two or more raids with unique players (not alts) and I'd be willing to try 25. Otherwise it's likely to be nothing but a money sink.
Re: ToGC25: are we prepared?
We have a decent number of people with experience now, but we definitely need more seasoned healers before we're good to go.
People with solid ToGC experience I can think of:
Tanks:
Nyrrin/Texaporte
Salessa/Calycemett
DPS:
Ordun/Cyriz
Daewen/Camyu
Sphied
Ishildur/Logos/Ustinov
Fiddletwix/Cazi
Mdlifecrisis (kind of)
Chamomile
Dengeki/Winterborn
(no druid DPS I can think of)
Devinoch
Healers:
Hatta/Delnar
Werehamster
(has Chayin gone?)

Re: ToGC25: are we prepared?
and that's 22 people right there (not counting dom twice... that's just silly
)
Add 3~4 more healers... which do not overlap with anyone already on that list... yeah, i guess we're not prepared.
I guess founding a second ToGC10 is a great starting point, though it does nothing about our lack of healers.

Re: ToGC25: are we prepared?
I've been gearing Kant up and been practicing more, but we'd lose high dps for medium healing at this point. Still, I'd be willing to start bringing Kant more to gear him up if that's what we need.

Re: ToGC25: are we prepared?
For that matter, I can start gearing for healing as well. Used to do it before, can always go back if we're in need.
Re: ToGC25: are we prepared?
I don't think Chayin has GONE, more like the ToGC10s fill and happen before Scott can get online. Since there are no real sign-ups, it's basically "whomever is online at the time at about 5-8pm".Texaporte wrote:We have a decent number of people with experience now, but we definitely need more seasoned healers before we're good to go.

I know my DPS is kinda lame at the moment, it actually got better with my recent respec, but I'm still wondering what the heck I am doing wrong.
But, yeah, WOO let's go ToGC25...eventually, I think I need another month of gearing up with more T9....I hear 4 piece bonus of T9 is awesome.
