Schadenewcomers - Intro Thread

Post by Texaporte »

Some old friends from City of Heroes (for me, Everquest for Cenon and Terry and Brad) are transferring over after one of them gets their Brewfest kodo, so I think it's worth it to put together a thread of introductions so we're not complete strangers when they arrive later this week. So, here goes.

My name's Dom, and I play Texaporte (paladin) and Mdlifecrisis (warlock). I first joined the guild back in vanilla when it was a family and friends guild in the truest sense of the word, everyone in the guild was related to each other by blood or marriage - except for Speedy, but he counted anyway. These days I'm acting guild leader in the absence of my cousin Joe (Fhatee), though I'd gladly defer to my cousin by marriage Kevin (Logos) if he had an interest in leading things.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where a large portion of the guild (but by no means all of it) is located.

I played CoH/V with Dom for a while too, but even if we did play together, I totally don't remember now. I'm also in the SF bay area. Anyways!

Hi, I'm Tony, a.k.a. Daewen / Nataszeya / Snowclaw (and a couple of other alts). I started playing on Icecrown, in a hardcore raid guild which asploded with BC. At which point I joined Dom & Co. to have a more relaxed experience while still bringing my raiding know-how to the growing group.

Er.. I'm Cenon's girlfriend, Wynne. I've only started playing since August 2008, so I don't actually know the previously mentioned old friends, but I have heard their voices through Cenon's speakers before for many years. I do know, however, a bunch of current guildies here through real life & the old IRC-days.

I play a rogue (Camyu), a prot/arms warrior (Kanon), and am currently leveling a dk (Shionna). Camyu obviously can only melee-dps, and Sphied keeps me on my toes in terms of staying at the top of the dps chart. I occasionally alt-tank with Kanon. I will probably never play a healing class, and absolutely hate using abilities with cast bars.

I try to learn from my mistakes with each death. I think dying is OK as long as I know why I died and try not to repeat the same mistake. As a rogue, I fail at PvP, but I love PvE. As a noob-alt-tank, I try my best to not run out of healing range, but that apparently still happens, which also makes me afraid to use Charge at times.

Hello, my name is Adam, and I'm an alt-aholic.

My 80s are:
Cazi - Arcane mage, main.
Hanth - Disc heally priest. Raid geared, but I'm not very good at it.
Trini - Survival Hunter. Mostly heroic gear, some raid.
Mortaie - Blood DK, quest blues.
Rila - Prot paladin, heroic gear, retired.

Luke and I work together at ICSI in Berkeley (along with a few other folks who aren't currently playing).

Hi and welcome to Schadenfreude!

I'm Kevin. I'm married to Dom's cousin, Bao and I live in SF. I live in a house that used to have 5 WoW'ers in it, but sadly I am the last one standing (at least for now). I started the guild back in, what?, spring of '05, with my wife and a bunch of her family (including Dom and Joe and Cop and Truc and...). Ever since my wife started her restaurant a couple years ago, we've had some key people leave the guild but they've been happily replaced by loads of new people - mostly somehow connected to Dom.

My main is Logos (Hunter) and my alt is Kant (Holy Pally). We're happy to have you and your arrival couldn't come at a better time. We are right at the crux of doing 25-man content consistently (we've done some but our numbers aren't there yet). What we've lacked in #s, though, we make up for in quality :)

Read through some of the sticky posts about loot rules or what have you (if you like). But I can sum it all up for you pretty easily: Don't be a dick. Be nice. Keep your cool. If you sign up for a run and we have too many, you may not make it in the raid (this rarely happens, but when it does, we try to make it up to ya). Show up. Have fun.

Oh and if you do something epically stupid (like light your garbage can on fire or turn yourself into a tiger and wipe the raid), people may make fun of you.

Hello, I'm Richard, although many of the folks in the guild know me as "Pocky".

I joined the guild two years ago, when Dom asked me to come over to Uldum to join him and some other real life friends (Jes/Lisseromen, Ian/Calabim, and Matt/Ahkllingword). My soon-to-be wife Katy (Dyrfinna - Mage) joined us soon after. I think I played COX with Dom at one point as well, though I don't really recall.

My main character is Salessa (Protection/Fury warrior), with a few alts coming up soon. I'm also one of our Jewelcrafters, so if you need something cut, please let me know.

Welcome to the guild! ^_^
Tank... and tank some more.

Hey, name's Brad. I've been hanging out with various members of the guild since the mid to late 90's in various games and chat channels.

Currently am playing a priest who is mostly shadow but occasionally holy. Enchanting and tailoring are my trades, but I've got no patterns yet to write home about. Poor Chamomile originally started on Icedown, migrated to Arygos, and later came to roost in Uldum after a period of unsubscribed slack.

Glad to see some new faces and perhaps some old friends as well.

Hello, I'm Andy.

I started playing WoW on Elune (along with a few of the other folks here, although I barely knew them at the time). After a period of inactivity, I transferred here right before Burning Crusade because I'd actually know more than just two people in my guild. I, like many other people, was originally brought over by Dom. But many of the people who joined since then I knew either from IRC or college or both.

My main is Werehamster, the official tankhealdps and grand master scribe of the guild. My shaman Bluesweetie is my other healer just in case Werehamster is saved to something. I've also got a warlock, Deathquota (there's a story there) and my hunter, Rodenthunter, who doesn't see much play other than to herb or skin.

My name is Terry,

Most of the transferring folk know me as Vesper the healadin from Icecrown/Arygos. I now play a disc priest named Delnar. I have 3 characters who are NOT level 80. (That's the easiest way to put it).
