according to GhostCrawler:
"The developers believe hunter dps is too low, so today we are implementing a change to ranged weapon damage to improve dps across the board. "

Re: blue posts: hunter buffs
Note that this increase only affects ranged weapons with iLevel 226 or above. This is to compensate for the lack of new ammo, according to Ghostcrawler.
Re: blue posts: hunter buffs
I'm totally embarrassed by my loot grabbing last week. It was shameless. (But boy are they cool looking!)

Re: blue posts: hunter buffs
But for those of you who hate me, you might like to know that I will get no buffs from this change. I don't have a bow with high enough iLevel. I very generously
passed on the Envoy the one time it dropped to Terry. So grats to Terry on his buff

OK so I know what's going on now... The people on mmo are saying that if hunters are topping the dps charts in your guild, that means the rogues and warlocks in your guild suck...
It's always the rogues' fault...
Re: blue posts: hunter buffs
I'm pretty sure the top 4 DPS in our 10-man runs have been pretty close to each other. yryche, camyu, logos and bosar - depending on the night. mufintop when he's there is also up there.
And no one is dealing 6k+ - like some ppl on that forum were saying. There might be an AOE fight here or there, but overall I thought we were all around 3.5k or something, sometimes much lower on failed fights obviously.
BTW, I won't be playing til next Thursday.

I usually find those people are idiots and use training dummies as their benchmark for dps. Soon as they implement a training dummy that roams around randomly, and occasionally you need to back off from or else get one-shotted, we'll see real numbers.Camyu wrote:OK so I know what's going on now... Cuz see, that's the thing, it's not about how big your numbers are, it's the balance of: everyone stays alive, healers don't run oom (assisted by people not standing in fire), and dps does enough to beat enrage timers. 'Enough' is usually a raid-wide average, not class X vs class Y. Rogue dps being 'low' on a fight is usually them having to run the heck away from instant death.
Those "people" on public forums would like to take an instance of one fight to point out, "Oh look! the hunter came out on top! That means all you other dps are /gkicked" without understanding how boss fights really work. They're not training dummies, it's more complicated than that.
