Here's the interesting part about the Christmas party on this run. Hikari is the only person we run into. No Jun + Homura, no Akane... just Hikari.

Goon: What should I wish for?

I broke my own rule for the first time here and wished for health here, thanks to the demands of the Akane route. We need some Stamina in order to be able to fight against Soubanchou, so I actually wished for health!


Goon: I wish for a healthy year.

It was worth 22 extra Stamina, which wasn't great overall, but we can use all the help we can get in that department, and Akane has proven that she doesn't care about grades that much.


Akane: Hey, are you okay going home without pulling your fortune?
Goon: Well...
Goon: Alright, let's do it!
Akane: I figured as much. Let's go.


Goon: Let's see, this year's luck is...
Goon: K, Kyou (bad fortune).
Goon: (How did Ichimonji-san do?)


Akane: So, how's this year look for you?
Goon: Here, see your yourself.
Goon: Hey, come to think of it, did you not pull one?
Akane: Yeah. It's a waste, don't you think?
Akane: You pay your money, and if you get something bad on there, then you start your year feeling bad.

Akane: Now, when I get home, I'm going to do a whole lot of nothing!

Akane: I don't get a real holiday like this very often.

The wild Akane in winter. Also of note, some time in the past few months, she started liking Goon enough to show up for dates early.


Goon: This tower has a great view from the observation deck.

1/25: Change of address


Akane: Goon-kun Goon-kun!

Been a while since Akane showed up - it's well past time to change $name to something more friendly than "Ichimonji-san". The only name that Akane doesn't like is "Ichimonji-chan", so I went for "Akane". She only allows people who are very close to her to call her that, and it's also easiest for me to type!


Goon: Hey, Akane. What's up?
Akane: Say... if you don't have anything else to do, want to walk home with me?
Goon: Yeah, that's fine.
Akane: Yay, I was scared you'd say no.
Akane: I don't have to work today.
Goon: Cool, let's walk.

2/14: Valentine's Day


Hikari: Gunma-kun!
Goon: Hey Hikari.
Hikari: Ummmm... here, take this.
Goon: Oh, thanks. Wait, did you make this yourself?
Hikari: I worked really hard on this, but I have no idea if it actually tastes good. Later!

Someone asked me if anyone in Tokimemo 2 is a top student, since there were so many honors students in the first Tokimemo. Well, Kasumi was a model student, and Mei is probably plenty smart, but there's no Shiori in this game. Homura is pretty much the Anti-Shiori.

Notably, the opposing school this time was named Justice High, which seems to be a reference to Rival Schools. And, in bro news, Jun has watched every single one of Goon's matches, I just haven't been noting it since the dialogue's been the same for a year.

Jun: Looks like we're in the same class again.
Goon: Yeah. Let's keep it going smoothly.
Takumi: Hey, I'm in too!
Jun: ...
Goon: ...
Takumi: Hey, what's with the cold shoulder?
Takumi: Geez, whose notes have you two been relying on, huh?
Jun: Ack...
Goon: Ack...
Takumi: Well, You know what they say, we're all in the same boat now. Let's keep it friendly.

Hikari: I've been waiting for you. Hey, let's walk home together, just like old times.
Goon: Yeah, sounds good.
Hikari: Great!


Kasumi: Oh, are you two heading home?
Kasumi: Come to think of it, it's pretty rare to see the two of you together these days.
Hikari: It's not that rare.
Goon: True, though rare isn't quite the right word.
Kasumi: Hey, I have an idea. Want me to give you two a ride home?
Goon: Awesome! It definitely is rare that we hang out together, Kasumi-san.
Hikari: ...I'm gonna walk.
Goon: Huh?

Note: Outside of a school setting, Goon immediately drops the -sensei and goes straight back to -san, like when they were kids. Hikari seems to be picking up on this.


Kasumi: Oh dear, it looks like I'm the third wheel.
Kasumi: You should hurry and go after her.
Goon: Sigh...


Goon: Hikari!
Hikari: ...What do you want?
Hikari: Aren't you going home with your precious Kasumi-oneechan?

This is another of the events that has a childhood prerequisite - Hikari only acts like this if she has a history of getting jealous of Kasumi and running off, which we did see in the childhood prologue.

Hikari: Hello? It's Hikari.
Goon: Hey, Hikari. What's up?
Hikari: I kind of want to go bowling this Sunday. Want to come with me?

Well, that saves us a Sunday of upkeep, so we might as well.

Goon: Yeah, gladly!

4/21: Praise for a perfect week


Akane: You look really cool when you're working hard.
Akane: I see you in a whole new light now.

This would be a bit more powerful if this wasn't what we'd been doing for the whole week:

I'm told that you shouldn't wear stripes with patterns. However, I am a Guy and have no expertise in these kinds of things.

Akane: I made a big lunch, and I was wondering if you wanted to eat it with us.
Goon: Oh, sure, I'll join you!

I'm going to fast forward a bit - for some reason, it was nigh impossible to win the three-legged race with Akane, so I eventually gave up and kicked some ass in the Kibasen. This took two more tries, and was just for personal satisfaction.

RELOAD COUNT: 9, 10


Akane: Goon-kun Goon-kun!
Goon: Hey, Akane.
Akane: Do you have a team for the Kibasen yet?
Goon: No, not yet.
Akane: Can I be the rider on your team?
Goon: Gladly!
Akane: Yay! Let's go out there and win!


With a buff and tough Goon leading the charge, the Kibasen is amazingly easy. It took all of 22 seconds to take out the enemy with barely any damage sustained, and most of that time was spent doing donuts trying to get used to how fast Goon is now.


Akane: That was amazing. I'm so excited right now!
Goon: It wasn't that big a deal.
Akane: No, seriously, you were really cool.
Goon: (It's kind of embarrassing to hear her say it so bluntly.)

6/17: Kendo match


Goon: That was easy!

Goon's undefeated streak continues.

6/24: Penguin show with Akane


Akane: How do they teach the penguins to dance like that?
Option 1: I guess it's because penguins are smart?
Option 2: I suppose they train them by luring them with food.

Sadly, there's no difference between this year and last year - apparently, by going to Ennichi in year 2 with Akane, I missed my chance at seeing a picture to go with the event.

I'll try and show you guys the picture another time, I'm sure it exists somewhere online.

7/30-8/4: Nationals


As a mirror to Koushien, all of the sports clubs have some kind of summer National Tournament event in year 3. It's five straight days of meets/games/matches, and they work pretty much the same way as everything else. In the case of the Kendo club, things work a tiny bit differently from the standard sports.

Also: The icon for the activity is a flame. I find that inspiring.


Goon: (I've finally made it to this point!)
Akane: Goon-kun.
Goon: Hey, Akane.
Akane: You've made it so far.
Akane: All I can say is good luck, but I'm rooting for you.

9/5: A duel between men

While this fight takes a lot longer than usual due to the lack of a girl around to dispel Soubanchou's ultimate form, I did upload a video of the fight to YouTube.

After school today, I'll be waiting by the river.

Pretty standard, but what happens next is a bit new... and pretty bro.


Jun: Yo, is something wrong?
Jun: You look serious, and that's rare.
Goon: Whoa now, it's not that rare, is it?
Goon: Anyway, I just have something I have to take care of.

Goon: (Doesn't look like anyone's here, but...)


Soubanchou: You didn't run.
Soubanchou: I admire your courage.
Soubanchou: But that's not going to be enough against me!
Goon: What the hell is going on?
Soubanchou: NO MORE WORDS!


Going mano a mano with Soubanchou can be brutal if you're unprepared. Good thing we've been training for 3 hears for this moment! With a high defense from Guts and a ton of hit points from slacking off and sleeping, this is going to be a piece of cake. A long and drawn-out piece of cake since we don't have any method of dispelling Soubanchou's ultimate form, but cake nonetheless.

Soubanchou's normal attacks do 400 damage, while his ultimate form attacks do 800. With Goon's 5k hit points, plus his ability to heal himself for 3000 (thanks, General Knowledge!) it's the familiar old RPG cycle of attack, attack, attack, heal, repeat to take down Soubanchou. If we hadn't pumped General Knowledge, Guts, Stamina, and Exercise, this cycle would be really easy to fall behind on.


Yes, we already saw this limit break from Kogarashi, but it's worth seeing done on Soubanchou.

So, this time the vote is between Takumi's play, the generic costume parade, and Akane's suggestion of running a cafe. While Takumi's play is apparently funny and interesting, we may not see it until Hikari or Kasumi's route, at this rate. Once again, whichever one Goon votes for is the one that wins the vote.

10/7: Bomb-clearing date with Hikari

I skipped over this because of a lack of footage, but at the moment, there are two bombs - one from Hikari, and one from Homura. One date carefully-timed date with them will buy enough time to go into the end game with no more bombs.


Hikari: I've gotten kinda sleepy watching the fountain.
Hikari: Is that weird?

Whatta face. For this date, I chose to check out Virtual Hazard, since I haven't shown that before.


While every other amusement park attraction has been a brief cut scene, Virtual Hazard is secretly a zombie shooting mini-game. Homura's the blue cursor, and Goon's the red cursor. The skulls and crossbones mark the number of kills for each player, and there's no way that you can beat Homura's AI with a d-pad unless you know all of the spawn patterns.


Homura: Oh man, I feel great after that.
Homura: I was fired up the whole time!
Option 1: You're a little excited, and still riding the adrenaline rush.
Option 2: I'm not done yet.
Option 3: I still feel that rush too.

I've skipped most of these because it's just Akane saying the same two things on repeat, but this one's different. Why? Because, with all of the Banchou-fighting we've been doing, most of the characters like Goon more than normal, leading to this unexpected development after a week of kendo practice:

Goon: I graduate today...

Goon: It's the last day I'll climb this hill as a high school student, isn't it.
Goon: (Soon, the graduation ceremony will start.)

Jun: Hey, someone shady is looking for you!
Goon: Huh?
Familiar voice: Oh, there you are.
Familiar voice: Hey, you.
Familiar voice: You're coming with me.
Goon: Part-Time Banchou?
Goon: Yeah, okay.
Jun: Are you gonna be alright?
Jun: I'll go with you, we'll--
Goon: It'll be fine, don't worry about it.
Goon: This is something I have to take care of myself...


Soubanchou: You bastards! What are you doing here?

Goon: Wow, the silent bell - it's ringing.
Goon: It looks like God is cheering the two of us on.
Akane: Yeah... I'm so happy.

And that is how the curtain closed on my three years of high school.

When I look back, it feels like all I did was go to Kendo practice.

In any case, I'm glad that I managed to graduate.

I'm going to keep honing my skills at Kendo, and teach local children the way of the sword.

Oh yeah, Akane has started going to culinary school.

We're on different paths now, so we may have fewer opportunities to see each other.

But that just means we'll value our time together even more.

I'm still pretty scared of her brother, but I think I'll just keep beating him as usual until he can't complain anymore.

She's getting cuter by the day, so I'm a little worried, but we will always be able to walk our paths together.

Because, like the legend this school has passed down through the years, our love will last forever.

Two things. First: hurray! We now get to hear the real credits song, and not the guitar version used for secret characters! It's called Anata ni Aete, and is one of my favorites from Tokimemo.



Second, while most of the info is still the same from playthrough to playthrough, we have one thing we're looking for in the credits:

Takumi

He said "I'm gonna become a host!"
I mean, he has the looks for it, but is it really gonna be okay?

Takumi's still the same.

Kaedeko

I hear that she works at a publishing company now, and is working hard as a writer for a crafts magazine.

Takumi failed once again. Suck it, Takumi.

Jun

To make the best use of his talents, he went to a school with a great sports program, and seems to be working hard.

C'mon c'mon c'mon

Homura

She got a job at Akai Orchards, and she's working hard in her own powerful way.

YES! We did it, goons, Jun and Homura ended up together. Unfortunately, they don't provide too much detail on what happens to Homura and Jun after school, but I'm sure we can fill in the blanks ourselves.


Everyone else has the same epilogues as before, so I'm not going to bother with that for future runs.
