With the final showdown against Deathwing approaching, we’ve been keeping a close eye on players' progress through the current Firelands raid content. Before patch 4.3 is released, we want groups who are working on Heroic-difficulty content to be able to get as close to Ragnaros as possible, and we want players who are tackling normal progression to be able to experience as many of the encounters as they can. To achieve these goals, we’ll be toning down the difficulty of both normal and Heroic raids through hotfixes in the coming weeks. In general, we plan to reduce health and damage of all raid bosses in both normal and Heroic Firelands by around the same percentage we brought difficulty down for the original Cataclysm raids when Rage of the Firelands (patch 4.2) was released.
We're looking forward to seeing more groups of players face off against the Fire Lord in the weeks ahead. However, before we make these changes, we want to give everyone a final shot at the bosses at their current difficulty level -- so this is a heads up that we’re planning to apply the difficulty hotfixes beginning the week of September 19.
Stay tuned to the Patch 4.2 Hotfixes blog for these and other live updates to the game as they happen.
25m Shannox would probably be possible. Beth'tilac... was insane when we tried it, with a substantial nerf though we could probably do that with some practice (if we can get 25 people). Rhyolith might be more doable than beth though, simply because it feels like slightly more concentrated moving parts (leg pilot has to know what they're doing, as does tank, for most though it's pretty straight forward 'do as directed and don't stand in fire' fight).
The nerfs will definitely make the fights more doable. Beth in particular is a big gear check (tanks & healers in P1, DPS in P2), on TOP of having execution pieces that'll wipe the raid. Less boss health + less boss DPS puts us in much more comfortable situation.
As Hildur said: the real question is whether our attendance will jump back up enough to support a 25 man raid. If that happens then we can begin learning the fights in 25... Nerfs or no nerfs, people who come back will probably have never done them (hell... I've barely done them). And we've also noted that the 10 man experience doesn't translate perfectly to 25.
If nothing else though: I think the nerfs mean we really shouldn't be farming T10 raids anymore. Regarding gearing up new raiders, chain running them through heroics would probably a better use of guild time. Thoughts?

This might not be a bad idea, especially if we can get our smiths into those heroics. The 365 weapons are nice, and for quite a few of us (yes, even me) would be upgrades. But we just don't have smiths with excess orbs.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can start running more heroics. I don't mind it as much as long as it's basically capable guildies. I can even tank in a pinch, if need be.

I was starting to do heroics on Snowclaw for orbs (and finally get 525 BS, to buy all the MF patterns), but then cosplay plans for blizzcon came up and so on... odds are Cliff will have a lead on supplying crafted epics, but I might put in some time myself to add to the supply.
I have 9 orbs at the moment on Norfolk, 5 of which are possibly spoken for by Hildur, so he'd just need to run 1 heroic to get another 365 epic weapon made.
Well, I'd be interested in a the polearm, but for me a polearm is a stat stick. So if someone who's more melee inclined would need one I'd of course give priority to them over me as far as those orbs. And don't worry Cliff, it's not like you'll be the only one we'd want to drag through heroic after heroic after heroic after.. ok I'll stop torturing you (for) now.
