So we had the old "tame the worgmother quest giver in hodir" trick. And Danny showed me the ethereal worm trick in the Hodir area as well, where you can get a transparent worm as your worm pet by half-completing the feeding process in the daily.
Some other things I've learned:
During the Zen'kiki, the Druid quest line in WPL, you can find undead eagles and tame those as your bird.
It may be profitable to sell Chromaggus runs to hunters.
There are color-changing crabs in Swamp of Sorrows.

Re: Stupid taming tricks
I was gonna suggest that after our ICC25 tonight that we try BWL and try taming a Chromaggus. If we sell such runs, what do you think the cost is? It takes a certain minimum number of people to clear the instance up to that point, to then sell the spot to a hunter to pull the lever and get the dog. Should we have the first one bid on, to see how much someone would pay? Could we go as high as 10K? As people reach 85, BWL will be easier for a smaller group to do, so maybe we can milk the novelty early on?
Re: Stupid taming tricks
So we had 6? people in our BWL raid and it was a cake walk. We can probably shave than down to 4-5. 3 maybe in a pinch if it's the right 3...
As for the interesting pets: Petopia is your friend. I've been running around collecting them.

That's a list of the new looks of pets.
There are several color changing ones. I'm not sure I'm sold on color changing pets. The idea is neat, but I like having a pet with character. My opinion is that as a pet class I get to know my pet and expect him to look a certain way and be named a certain way. It's why the warlocks were annoyed when their demon's names changed... they liked their demons named the same. The color changing pets are just too random.
If you're into ghostly pets, then there are a few new options. My favorite (and REALLY easy to get) is

He's a dark gray worg which is transparent. It's a quest mob which is stationary (He appears dead when you walk up to him but he isn't. So you just start taming him and hello pet). I tamed him last night and like him.
Here's a ghostly 2 headed green carrion bird:

I tamed him a few days ago. He spawns in Blades Edge when one of the ghost arrakoa gets low on health. It's somewhat questionable if I'm going to keep him... I'm not sold on the color of green and the ghost effect. It's kinda meh. The picture on petopia is much prettier than in game. I can pull him out if anyone wants to see him.

Here's a bird of prey... He looks like the same green as the carrion bird, so I'm questionable on it. I'll probably tame him anyway.
Lastly is the Ghostly Jormungar

I'm still 70, so I can't tame him yet.

If anyone likes ghost skins, someone found a ghost boar in RFK. The first boss summons boar spirits that are tamable.
