For those who have never done the fight there is a good recap on bosskillers.com
Just a couple questions about the fight. I thought it went pretty well last night. Without ever doing him before it seemed to me like getting to phase 3 was easy and the only difficulty is getting past enrage timer. Is this true? Or were we lucky on all attempts?
Question for tanks. Is there a reason that he has to be moved (besides moving away from sparks?)
Just a reminder for tanks that if Malygos is between sparks and the raid (standing in center) Death Grip will not really help because of its 30 yard range. Moving Malygos so the sparks must travel through the raid is ideal but even 90 degrees is workable for Death Grip. I know tanks cannot really see the spark direction too well and the DK both not speaking made it harder, but we worked it out by the end there with us having 2 sparks consistently on the last couple attempts. I would suggest someone who is speaking tell the tank the direction to move away from spark.
DPS question. I can't speak for Ease but Mufhintop was doing very limited dps in phase 1. Concentration on sparks took up about 80% of my time and focus. It seemed like there was always a spark for me to pull or slow. In retrospect I should have thrown out my ghoul and put Hysteria on Cyriz during that phase. Am I correct in saying that having 2 stacks of sparks is more important than my personal dps?
phase 3 question. Are we supposed to be constantly moving to avoid storm? I know I was getting hit before I moved.

Re: Malygos
Phase 1: The only reason to move Malygos is to keep a spark from hitting him. Also, to keep him from breathing on the group.
Phase 3: He will shoot out the spark field in the direction he's currently facing, which is where we are. It's impossible for everyone to avoid it, but if you're quick on your feet... err... wings... you can be fast enough to only get hit once or maybe twice, which is easily healed by a fully comboed AOE heal.

Re: Malygos
Actually, tanks are probably the ones with the most need to pay attention to spark direction. Once Malygos is in position, you can swing your camera around and look for where the next spark is coming from, then swing Big Blue himself around to a position that works for the DKs.fhatee wrote:Question for tanks.
