Cleaning up our Conclave strat

Post by Texaporte »

So our transitions have gotten a lot cleaner after we switched to having three tanks, one of whom never moves off of the flower platform. After a couple hours of fighting these guys, we were and are achingly close to having them all dead on time (BS on them living through their ultimates - a few more seconds and we had that fight.

We need to clean up other aspects of that fight, though. Brad has mentioned the slightly staggered Wind Blast timing. Is there any way we can improve our time on targets? Tanking Anshal by the ramp in the 60+ energy phase so that the DPS gets to squeeze more time on target seems like a good idea. What else can we do to keep people alive and get the bosses deaded?

Maybe I should stop dyin' so much. I'd imagine that'll help.

In retrospect I probably should have moved over to flower side, all other things being equal. The damage race completely flipped immediately after Dengeki and those delicious, delicious totems switched to Anshal. The tanks also got better at preventing healing on Anshal on subsequent attempts, I think.

For Wind Blast and transitions, it seems like the best thing to do is hold off a little before jumping back after the first (and only the first) Blizzard phase, since he'll basically be casting it as soon as people break away from the center platform. If we hurry back to Rohash after the second and third Blizzard is done we should arrive with enough room to see (and dodge) the Wind Blast.

Incidentally, has anyone managed to get hit by Wind Blast and lived (i.e. not left the platform)? I think I got stuck on pillar geometry or something once and didn't go flying off, wondering if that's consistent enough to try in emergencies.

It's not consistent at all. I've had it happen once but have had two or three times where I hit the pillar and just fell.

I have been knocked into a pillar and lived. I have also been knocked onto the travel bumper and lived. I don't know if getting knocked into the pillar is controllable enough that having your back to it is a valid strategy. I might test it next time. :)

Could we spent a shade more time on Nazir's platform between transitions? This way he's lower health when the timer starts. Or would the frost patches start becoming a burden on the healers?

I found that once I stopped disconnecting randomly on attempts it helped my performance a great deal.

On Nazir sometimes staying on a bit longer isn't viable due to healing issues, but if my health is doing ok I try to leave fresh dots on before I jump back. It's not a lot, but every bit helps.
