Question for the healers, regarding Shield Wall (warrior)

Post by Pocky »

Hello, oh wonderful healers of Schadenfreude.

I currently have my Shield Wall glyphed, which means it reduces damage by 60% for 12 seconds, with a 4 minute cooldown.

Would it be better to leave it as is, and make it a once-a-fight ability, or would you prefer it unglyphed: 40% for 12 seconds, with a 2 minute cooldown.

I can, of course, swap it in and out as necessary, but in general, I'm curious as to what the preference would be.

Thanks!
Tank... and tank some more.

Unglyphed seems better for most situations, the ability to use it more often to increase your personal survivability versus when the 20% extra would actually have prevented a death.

From my personal experience, unglyphed is better, but I think it's pretty easy to carry around some dust of disappearance and just unglyph/reglyph shield wall depending on the fight. (this means I should probably start carrying a stack of it around =P)

I felt a lot better having shield wall unglyphed on Magmaw, as that allowed me to use it right before each mangle, which I assume helped the healers a bunch.

However, tanking 2 drakes on halfus (or halfus and a drake) would probably favor the glyphed shield wall. So yeah, fight dependent I think.
