weekly gives no xp, shoot.

*edit* and i would ignore his 38 hours thing, i'd be shocked if any class first was level after the 20 hour mark, unless they up the xp significantly.

Yeah, it sounded like 38 hours was from a guide for levelling quickly, and the notes for under-20 being for the realm-first attempt.

Btw, what addon(s) are you using for the quick quest turn-in? I've used one before, but it was limited to quests npc's that only had a single quest turn-in, and no reward options.

I'm perfectly willing to make the journals, but if this launch is anything like the last few, herbs will be extremely difficult to find.

I bet I could stock up on a bunch of darkmoon card mats to try and get from 450-460 with northrend mats, though. The recipe is yellow at 450 until 462.

... Actually I won't be getting my copy of the game until Wednesday during work and I won't be getting home until about the time that it sounds like the race will be over. If I get home and I find you guys already 85 before I've even had a chance to play...

It seems kinda likely. Though, you did get to see this stuff on the beta, and I think all I'll be playing is "connect exclamation points to question marks".

I'm feeling like to join this race, I'll have to buy the digital, and then do the code juggle with Billing afterwards... not fully sold yet, but leaning there.

Btw I found the Hyjal portal, and how to get to that little island in the north of Stormwind where the other portals will be. First, the Hyjal portal is in the castle, just turn left at the throne room. "Guardians of Hyjal" NPC and portal right there. Jump out the window and into the lake, and you're on the island with obvious places for the other zone portals. The other way to get to that island is to head out the Dwarven District into the park, cross Olivia's pond (or go all the way around it), and up a ramp on the far side to the higher level water with the island.

At least I'm glad I set my hearth in the Dwarven District, I'm that much closer to the castle to hop through that Hyjal portal.

But you say that after you go through that portal once, it's no longer available? Hence hearthing to Hyjal and porting to Stormwind?

The way it worked on beta was the call to arms sent you to the keep. The keep chick says jump in this portal to go to moonglade. You port to moonglade and another npc tells you to jump on a dragon that flies you to mt hyjal. There is(was?) no direct portal to hyjal, just moonglade.

I tested it and you could no longer take this route once you'd done it once.

*edit* There are three distinct paths at one early through mt hyjal leveling btw, so we can mostly stay out of each others way after the first 15 quests. I'm worried about a quest where you have to pick bones up off the ground, on beta they were extremely limited quality and took me 6-7 min just to get past this part, which was a progression quest.

Oh and my current addon is just an auto-complete function that's part of carbonite. I just plan on choosing the cloth item in every quest and checking to see if it's an upgrade during travel.

I'm hearthed in trade district so I can run to the flying trainer more quickly. Don't forget to learn old weather flying!

Ok, because I'd have to buy a digital copy to start at 12:01, and upgrading it with my pre-ordered CE will nuke that key, I'm gonna probably be out of the race. It's a bit much to spend for maybe half a day's play.

Once my CE comes in though, I may still spend a long session levelling up in relatively quick manner!

This appears to be all the items that have "This item begins a quest"

http://www.wowhead.com/items=12?filter= ... :4;crv=0:0

So this may save you time if you want to skip looting certain groups of mobs but are afraid they might have stuff that starts a quest.

*edit* this may not be a total list, wynne fixed my awful query and found more quests from the first link i had.
