Official word on Insane in the Membrane

Re: Official word on Insane in the Membrane
Hmm... I'm bored of my current games. Could come back early to farm, however, I'd need a personal goal to stay focused while collecting ze Pocky herbs. No longer interested in gold, and ditching this character for a new Main on launch...

I'll farm up some boxes and get what cards I can.
Also on the lower decks, if people have any of the rare inks or pigments for them laying around don't underestimate those decks. The lower ones like hunter's ink/verdant pigment are kind of awesome for rep since each deck may only be 25 rep, but is also only 3 cards per deck. People nuking the lower lvl herbs often end up with a bunch of those and not enough of the normal herbs to bother making those cards since the normal inks are more valuable spent on glyphs in the current economy. The smaller decks can also turn in straight away regardless of whether the DMF is in town or not.

OK from what I could find in my inscription tab, I mailed Darkflame ink and ink of the sky to pocky... plus a bunch of primal life. I didn't see why hunters ink is useful, but I have 3 lying around if they are could be put to use.
I also mailed a bunch of lower level (pre-darkmoon) cards to pocky... which I doubt will be useful... but hell, I want my bank space back =]

Re: Official word on Insane in the Membrane
Since we determined that we have 7-10 days to be able to turn in epic decks, we need to mount an all-hands effort to farm up mats for the epic decks, or whatever it takes to buy them up off AH.
It might be easier to farm up the mats for the lv 60 decks, since they don't require any elemental life. Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage, Plaguebloom, Icecap. But if you happen to be herbing while grinding something else, Outland and Northrend herbs also make the epic decks.

Re: Official word on Insane in the Membrane
I have a metric CRAP-TON of bc herbs lying around. Lemme melt them down and make make inks. I suspect the limiting factor of the those will be the primal lifes. I only had 11. To make a card it it requires 3 primal life
Re: Official word on Insane in the Membrane
P.lifes actually not too hard to farm (herbalist killing Talonsworn Forest-Rager in Skettis), but might be more time-effective to just buy them. Still, let's throw as much as we can at this.

Would gold mean more likely chance of success? Sitting on a pile of it.
Re: Official word on Insane in the Membrane
I think so, yes. I bought up about 6 grand of cards/decks from AH yesterday (not everything, but more or less reasonable). I saw lifes priced at about 14g ea, which comes out to 42g to make a northrend card, ~400g to make a deck (only if you consider making so many that you reduce the duplicates via normal RNG distribution). So yes, buying up the entire AH supply of E.life and P.life is necessary, even if it's not a deal. We might have to resort to military-level spending to get this done.Eisengar wrote:Would gold mean more likely chance of success? Sitting on a pile of it.
I had also made a tangent on vent, this is exactly why my alt guild name is <Excipio Per Pecunia>, "To Conquer with Money". From a quote by Cicero: "Nihil munitam quod non expugnari pecunia possit", Nothing is so strongly fortified that money could not capture it.
As another tangent, my farming of EPL for lv60 herbs (which don't require elemental Life to make cards from) barely yielded one card for my time. There's not enough on AH, either. It might just be too slow via ground mounts, compared to not needing the Lifes to make cards.
Re: Official word on Insane in the Membrane
Hmm I'd like to understand the raw mats that are still needed to get this accomplished, so we can determine where my time is best spent (compare what can be done farming vs what can be bought on AH).
I can devote about 2-3 hours a night farming, and am averaging ~5 Eternal lives per hour. I also have 60K gold in the bank.
