4.0.1 Mod Thread

Post by Daewen »

Basic theme of this thread: What the heck works anymore? (However, going to avoid some of the "this doesn't work," because that's probably a very long list/rant.)

http://www.wowinterface.com/survivalguide.php has a list of working/notworking, but of course that's not comprehensive of every mod out there, just the most popular (probably by download rankings).

Not being at home, I only have memory to rely on, but thankfully Dominos, Elkano's BuffBars, and Livestock work. The new default raid UI is more Grid-like, so though not fully functional with all the add-ins of Grid, it seemed good enough for rangecheck, health and mana (rage/energy/focus) displays, and debuffs. Allegedly DBM/BigWigs are updated, but damned if I havn't seen any timers or warnings. Omen is updated too... but I havn't used it yet (though it's obvious when I'm pulling aggro!) :D Also, my unsupported-since-2009 fave EventHorizon seems to still work on some classes, but not all. Makes me consider fixing it myself, or using something like Quartz for the same; I've never used Quartz, anyone have that working/configured?

My ag_UnitFrames is totally hosed- who is using what for unitframes? Not nameplates, I mean the statically located frames for target, focus, myself, party/raid. They're all marketed as configurable and all that, but I like extremely clean UI elements, myself. I had also found that ArcHUD was interfering with standard unitframes, too, and might like a replacement for that.

Anything else people are missing/need a working version of, and don't want to wait 2-3 weeks for mods to update or die off?

I don't think quartz has been updated, but it still seems to work.

From what I've been told, Event Horizon will give one one bar with moving dots/etc and when they reach the end you need to recast. I'm not a power user of quartz, but I've not seen quartz do something like this. It will show you everything you have cast on a target in a block(one bar per, on top of each other), but it won't show you everything you have cast in a moving bar.

I can take a screen shot or two if you'd like.
