OK. I'll give it to Joe. When will I see you next? Probably on Tuesday?
And I think Tony already went through all the chars (or most anyway) and turned them into Initiates, etc., so hopefully his work wasn't overwritten.

Re: hacked!
When you detach an authenticator from your battle.net, you will need the authenticator with you. You do that on your account maintenance page on the web. In fact, you need to type in two consecutive codes from the authenticator on the page before it will be detached.Logos wrote:I just downloaded it and it's working fine for now. Blizz says to contact them if you lose your phone and can't detach the authenticator. I'm not sure if you need your phone on or in your possession to detach it from the battle.net account. If not, then yeah - just detach it if you lose your phone and reattach another one later.
Re: hacked!
Both Scott and I have the iPhone Authenticator App and use it regularly. Before that we had the regular authenticators....and we do have two freebie authenticators from Blizzcon 2008.
Having so many alts...on many servers, I would hate it if some keylogger grabbed my stuff and sold it all.
Anyway, just throwing that out there for the GMs and higher-ups if it wasn't already known.

Re: hacked!
After making the changes to rank names and permissions, I realize that non-keyed members and alts still have access to 5 stacks a day. This was what everyone had before and would not prevent someone with multiple alts to take 30 or 40 stacks of items. Should we consider lowering the stack limit for alts to 1 or 2 and/or lowering the limit for non-keyed members from 5 to something else?
Re: hacked!
I've got an authenticator running now (the key fob kind, I don't really trust my iPhone much). I also have a couple of spare authenticators, if anyone needs; send me a note and I can mail it to you or something.
I think my main is still marked as an Alt, should she be "keyed member" now? Or is there other criteria?

Re: hacked!
As a note, John got a message this morning saying that the guild bank items had been restored to the guild leader (Fhatee). So we should in theory be good to go again...
Re: hacked!
1 to 2 stacks sounds okay to me. I agree, we still have the same amount of exposure if we stick with 5 so nothing would really change if things are left as is. 2 for unkeyed mains and 1 for alts? I'm just throwing out numbers here.fhatee wrote:After making the changes to rank names and permissions, I realize that non-keyed members and alts still have access to 5 stacks a day. Re: hacked!
Something I'm thinking is that we're using the ranks for the dual purpose of limiting GB access and identifying mains/alts (and officer-administrators). There's not much use to limiting access for an alt if the person is keyed, and we still have the Initiate rank for no-GB-access. So, maybe we should have the ranks/GB access something like Initiate (0), Unkeyed Person (1), Alt (50), Main (99) ?sphie wrote:1 to 2 stacks sounds okay to me. Re: hacked!
50? I'm having difficulty picturing a scenario where an alt needs to empty out half of a bank tab in the course of a 24 hour period. From my experience so far, it'd take some factory-level manufacturing needs to even pass the 5 stack limit I was under in the first place.
I'm okay with there not being a differentiation between a keyed and a non-keyed alt, for simplcity's sake if nothing else... but then again, none of my alts' sweatshop labor really has enough material demand to bother withdrawing from the GB more than once or twice a week.
