Loot rules

There was some suggestion on Tuesday that we switch away from Personal Loot at least on early normal bosses in order to gear up folks more quickly.

I suggest we assign bosses as either "Farm" or "Progression". On "Progression" bosses, we continue with Personal loot, as this avoids drama and, I believe, is no loss over other looting systems as long as people aren't already geared up.

For bosses on "Farm", we assign a Master Looter (usually guild leader). Then anybody for whom the gear is an upgrade for their main spec may /roll. High roll wins. If it isn't an upgrade for anybody's main spec, people for whom the gear is a side-grade on main spec or side/upgrade on off-spec may /roll. High roll wins. If it's not a side/upgrade for anybody, /roll for greed (generally enchanters if BOP and everybody if BOE). Normal meta-rule ("Don't be a Dick") applies.

I further suggest that we assign normal Kargath, Butcher, Brackenspore, Tectus, and World Bosses as "Farm", and all others as "Progression".

Thoughts?

We might want to feel around a bit more on who is still in need of upgrades from the normal mode bosses.

In my case, there are still drops from Tectus, Butcher, Ko'ragh, Twin Ogron, and Mar'gok that would be upgrades. Some bosses with several.

If it were just one or two people that still have upgrades, that'd be fine. The impression I got from Tuesday was that there were a fair number of people that still need several upgrades from normal mode.

For reference, these are the rules we used back during WOTLK and Cataclysm:

* Main Spec before Off Spec

* Main Character before Alt Character

* One piece per person per week, per raid (i.e. a person getting a piece in a lower tier raid doesn't put them out of the running for a higher tier raid).

- If everyone else passes on a piece, or it is given to someone, it doesn't count against this count

- Once everyone who can take a piece of gear has gotten one for the week, the "count" resets. I.E. If A, B, and C all get gear from the first half of the raid, they are all now eligible for a piece again, and are rolling against each other as if no one had gotten anything.

We used to count tier pieces separately, but I don't think we need to this time.

As for my thoughts on what we should do, I don't know. I'm still thinking about it.
