As people are now starting to outgear heroic 5-mans, it feels like a good time to check interest regarding challenge modes.
Any interest?

Gear scales down to 630, so that's the target.

Should probably point out for folks that haven't had the pleasure of attempting challenge modes in the past: Challenge modes are well named. They're HARD.
Signing up for challenge modes means preparing to wipe on content that feels familiar, but which is now inexplicably kicking your butt. Especially the trash. Challenge mode trash is mean. We'll probably wipe on every pull.
That said: Challenge modes are not completely devoid of rewards. There's a daily quest which awards a piece of 640 LFR gear.

Oh, so it's like old BC Heroics, requiring lots of CC and tactics?

I'm totally down.

As a note on challenge modes - you don't HAVE to get a rating (gold, silver, bronze) to finish. You can keep going for hours if you want. But the ratings give achievements and bonus (non-upgrade) rewards. The daily is only way to get any gear improvements.

So that time is completing the entire instance? If so, that indeed is challenging. 20 minutes of chain pulling with even harder content...

it is indeed. Challenge modes require a lot of practice and resetting. We (Andy, Hildur, Bryce, myself, and my friend Kevin) did them in MoP, and were happy to get Bronze and the occasional Silver.
