On a random note

So being bored last night I decided to do something stupid. And as it turns out it's possible for a blood DK to solo Archavon, it sucks but it's possible.

So how many would it take to do Earth Wind and Fire?

I suspect this operation will be done in 10man.

in LK you needed 2 tanks for arch since he picks up the tank.
in LK you needed 1-2 tanks for emalon. I think Dom said he had Ironmaned it before (back in LK)
in LK you needed 2 tanks for koralon due to his meteor fists hit.

So that leads me to believe at least 2 tanks because 1 will be pulled out of the fight.
Healers: 2
rest dps.

I suspect 3 tanks actually. 1 for Koralon and 2 to tank Arch+Emalon+adds

I usually over-think these things though. Todays high dps will overcompensate for a lot of these fights mechanics. I suspect this fight would be over in a snap. Arch&Emalon has what? 2-2.5m HP? That's not even a normal boss these days. Koralon has 4.5M HP So high dps might get away with 2 tanks... I don't think with one.

So how many? still on the higher side of 10: 2-3 tanks, 2 healers(1?) and at least 3 dps? So at least 6-7

The standard strat that I'm seeing is 3 tank, 3 heals, 4 dps.

Grab Koravon first at 10% head to Archavon
Take Archavon down to 10%
At that point 1 tank, 1 healer, and all dps head to Emalon and burn him down ASAP, while the remained 2 tanks and healers stay with Koravon and Archavon trading taunts and cooldowns to stay alive, by the time Emalon dies Koravon and Archavon should be almost dead and can probably be finished off by the tanks, and dps racing back if needed.

Keep in mind many of us would want to do this in both 10 and 25, as there are separate versions for both.

We don't need two tanks for Archy, we just need an attentive dps with a taunt. (Cliff was getting really good at that at the time.)

Dom was very definitely iron manning Emalon + adds on level.

The extra dps we have at our disposal means we can be a bit more conservative about how the dps is done. We could very likely just split the dps up and never need them to shift. If a single DK can solo Archy before his enrage, then it seems like a tank + dps on each boss is enough. Throw in a Prot Paladin as a tank who could probably self heal through Archy and we'd only need two healers.

The strat I posted was pre-cata so I'm sure it's a lot easier now.

I can also solo Sapphiron it seems.
