Luke and I have been discussing mage specs, and it brings up the general topic of spec synergies. I'm leaning towards respeccing Cazi deep arcane, but this is only really a good idea if somebody else is handling either scorch or the ice spec equivalent (for +spell crit) AND snaring (for Torment the Weak). Snare effects seem pretty common in almost all builds, but I'm not sure what affects bosses. Do you think I can count on bosses generally having some snare effect on them?

Well, I will probably keep FFB spec for a while, because I am doing ok with it. That will let me scorch; if Khai or Jenny are with us, they will keep winter's grasp up as a matter of course, so neither of us need to worry about it.

The frost fever disease from DKs should serve us well, for the torment the weak buff, so no problem with that

So I don't think you *need* slow.

Two synergies i know of off the top of my head are bleeds (warriors/rogues/druids) and ice (mages/DKs).

any others out there? I love synergies

Rogue Savage Combat talent, fairly deep Combat tree. It's one reason why I don't mind that combat dps isn't up there with the other specs (though it seems it will be buffed next major patch).

If I have a poison on a target, all physical damage against it increases 2%.
So it synergizes with other rogues, warriors, a component of DK and Pally damage, hunters, and melee shammies.

And now that Fan of Knives (FoK) can apply poison to every target it hits (which is everything in 8 yards, no limit), that can be really big for any physical aoe damage (more FoKs, WW, cleave, volley, etc).

This is also why we desperately need more Feral Druids!

Boomkins and magic damage!

Alternatively, Unholy DKs (with 3/3 Ebon Plaguebringer) and magic damage!

And Shadow Priests! I didn't notice the lack of Chamomile in the raid on Tuesday, and my dps suffered. And I even had hit gear in my bags. Note to self: pay attention!
