Raid shuffle!

So now that we're into ICC, raiding plans are kinda all over the place. We've found that there are some bad performance issues with ICC25, which makes it seem like our time might be better spent running multiple 10's on raid nights- early shifts, later shifts, and if need be making sure we don't put all our undergeared alts in one basket.

Also, with the raid weekly, do we put that on our raid days, ahead of ICC? It is a lot of frost badges, which count towards upgrades/progression, so I think it would be valuable to all.

I was looking at the ToC trophy tracker wondering if it still be valuable for people to pound that out on a raid day and pass around a few trophies, upgrades, etc? We might not need to do it for long, since any one clear will get 5 more people their trophy. Or, do we schedule this for an off-raid day? Or if people who havn't gotten as many trophies don't care, we can drop this idea altogether.

I think in the end I'm proposing that for Tuesdays we do the raid weekly as 25-man at 8pm, then break up into 10's and head to ICC. Thursday, we knock out ToC (if there's any interest in this), then we go for ICC 25-man (and battle lag, ISP's, etc.) And then add Sunday for fun-runs, like more ToC, Onyxia, Ulduar (or even old-school stuff which I havn't run in a while).

Our priority should be teaching people the fights in Icecrown. I would suggest starting with ICC25, and limiting it based on time. That is, "after two hours, we're done with Icecrown". We take people through the fights and teach them the nuances, and then after, say, an hour and a half to two hours, we break back into other stuff. We may also need to be a bit more picky about who comes to the 25s once more people are off of holiday. Icecrown isn't HARD hard, but there are some people who are seriously underperforming and need experience/coaching more than they need gear. The gear will only help their numbers, it won't help them if they keep dying in fires and being dead raid spots.

The raid weekly is really easy to find a pug for, so I would suggest that be a free time/off-night activity, since learning the fights >> 5 frost emblems from a "beat Icecrown's first 4 bosses" standpoint. The raid weekly is important, of course, but it doesn't teach people much of anything to run into the first wing of Naxx and blow up a boss we stopped doing 10 months ago.

Also note that the next two Thursdays will be nearly impossible to raid on with more than 10 people, since they're Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Well my thing with the 10's is that maybe ICC10 makes it easier to learn the fights than on 25. Partly on account of "it lags so much less in 10 than 25!" heard. Hopefully some later hotfixes/patches will improve the performance in ICC, but meanwhile we do what we can.
