Trophies of the Crusade

So, in an ideal situation, we're getting 10 of these a week - 5 from each of our two ToCrusader runs.
I propose adding one thing to that - a socialist distribution of trophies, so that (in this idealized world) everyone gets a piece of 245 Tier gear every two weeks. It helps smooth out triumph purchases in the guild, it helps keep bad blood from spilling over with "hey, you've won that three weeks in a row" talk, and while it requires some bookkeeping, it helps gear up the whole guild in the long run for the assault on Icecrown.
Does anyone disagree with this policy? If so, let me know why. Otherwise, we'll start keeping a list of people who've gotten trophies. Some extra clarification:
- Trophies earned from pugs don't count, so don't worry about being unfairly punished there - but if you're going from a 232 to a 245 and someone else could go from a blue 200 to that same 245, Rule One applies.
- Main > Alt priority remains - but if you're bringing an alt to a ToCrusader because we need the tank/healer/extra DPS or whatnot, you'll still get a trophy in a fair time frame.
- Pocky is good at keeping lists, so I'll trust him with this one. We can wipe it all clean once everyone's gotten one, and start again fresh.
- Trophies will be separate from gear. The standard gear rules apply, and trophies are their own little category.

I am in awe of the critique and willfully accept the parameters you've laid out, but I have no idea what Trophies of the Crusade are. Help me ObiGa.

Trophies of the Crusade are a drop from either 25-man ToC or 10-man heroic. Turn in one of those with your Emblems of Triumph and you get the ilevel 245 version of Tier 9 gear. Without them, the T9 gear is merely ilevel 232. One drops per boss.

Obtainable in 10 man hard mode and 25 normal mode. Used for purchase of tier 9.5 gear.
And I agree with Dom. Assigning trophies is a good idea. I'd suggest having the master looter roll a d10 and assigning to a member of the raid, re-rolling if the winner already received one.
Also, how bout making the loot sheet a public document? That would spread the book keeping pressure, instead of dumping it on one person

I think whoever is the master looter for the raid will need ready access to the doc, so they may as well be responsible for updating it. The guild roster I created a while back can be used to this effect, it just needs some freshening up to reflect recent changes.
I've been busy at work recently, but I can get it updated by next week.

yes, assuming we're clearing 2 10 man heroics each week, we should definitely limit trophies to one every 2 weeks, since getting 2 trophies in one week or 2 weeks won't actually get the recipient extra gear due to the emblem costs.

One adjustment to suggest- instead of assuming full heroic weekly clears (for whatever reason; many scenarios possible), we just keep track of how many each person has, and divvy in the described egalitarian method. We might mix and match people between the two groups week to week, and some people might have RL come up. Therefore, I suggest we should /random tokens to whomever is present and with least tokens received.
Also, we should be careful about how we count tokens for people, for those situations where we request someone to bring their alt to fill a role. I agree that since they were requested, they should count as 'main' for gear, but this could get into the situation where tokens aren't as evenly distributed (though of course the dice don't favor this scenario). I leave this as an open question.

In the case where someone's requested to bring an alt to fill a role, that shouldn't be too much of a problem since the items are tradeable for a period right? Someone could loot it, then hearth/zone out to where the alt's main is and hand it to them.

I have one comment to make. It sort of runs into the attendance issue that some of us try to avoid by trusting the dice, but I think it's a valid point.
Giving someone a Trophy who doesn't attend raids or doesn't do heroics these day is not a smart distribution of Trophy, because you can't use that Trophy unless you have sufficient Emblems of Triumph. And the only ways to acquire Emblems of Triumph is thru heroic dailies, 10-man-heroic raids, and 25-man raids, or in other words, playing the game often enough. I'm not concerned about those folks who only sometimes get invited to a raid but actually do tons of heroics. Those folks certainly deserves a Trophy when it drops and they win. But if we give it to someone who only logs on, say, once every two weeks, that's even worse than handing an actual piece of awesome gear/weapon to the same person, because at least that person can immediate put on that awesome gear/weapon. Trophy is kinda different in this case, since you can't even use it right away without collecting enough Emblems of Triumph. I hope this makes sense. But if this is going to cause hurt feelings, then feel free to ignore what I just typed, and I apologize in advance.

It's tradable only among the members of the same raid who are eligible to loot the item at the time of the kill. So in this case, if the alt is present, the main is therefore not present, and so the item won't be tradable to the main.

Unfortunately, a character has to have been there for the kill to be able to accept the trade. :/
To answer other questions, I have no problem with keeping track of things. As long as people remember to tell me that they've gotten a trophy (when I'm not on), it'll be easy.

Bind on Pickup gear is only tradeable to eligible characters, ie, those present for the kill.
