Sartharion's lava and Tenebron positioning

This is what I have question/observed during last night's Sartharion+Tenebron 10-man.

1. Lava churns
When the lava churns "right side", we group up to where the melee is, which is the right side of Sartharion. As a melee, that means I don't have to move, so that's easy for me. The more challenge one for me is when it churns "left side", because that's when melee needs to turn around, and run towards the back of the island. Sometimes I get hit by the tail end of the lava even though I turned as fast as I could (given lag/reaction time/look both ways to see which side the wave is coming/etc.)

So last night, there was one time when the lava churns "left side", for some reason I had delayed reaction and I knew I couldn't make it to the back side of the room where range was, so I decided to run underneath Sartharion across his belly and to the left side of him, AND I DID NOT GET HIT. I think I'm also on the same plane of where Texaporte would position himself so that he doesn't get hit by the wave. Or I might have just been lucky that one time... So I'm trying to find out what you all think of this... Is it possible that melee can simply run underneath Sartharion to the left side of him and avoid getting hit by the lava? Because that actually seems to be a shorter distance to run. Or is that a bad idea because we might be out of range for heals, etc...

2. Tenebron positioning
When Tenebron comes down, she is in front of Sartharion. As melee, we are supposed to switch to DPS Tenebron. However, given Tenebron's small hitbox, our tank has a hard time positioning and, while melee tries to look for the right spot to DPS Tenebron from behind/the side while avoiding being in front of Sartharion, sometimes during the process of finding the perfect spot, melee do end up standing in front of Sartharion, and die from his flame attack. With Texaporte positioning the drakes at the right spots last night, I was able to stand on the back-right side of Tenebron underneath Sartharion's neck and avoid getting flamed by Sartharion, but Yryche was not so lucky and he got flamed by Sartharion and died. So I wonder if there is any suggestion/strategy to finding the right spot with respect to the tank, the melee, and the drakes' relative positions.

For lava churns, I have the same tactic. If it's a 'left' churn, if I notice it fast enough I can move over there and get a few seconds of DPS time on adds or whatever. But if I notice it too late, I too also get under Sart and hope I don't get by a cleave. It's better than getting smacked in the face by a churn.

Ideally, we ignore the adds and hope to burn down Tenebron in about 40-50 seconds. But yeah, this requires a much better position for Tenebron so the melee aren't in range of cleaves and breaths. As to how, I have no idea. The other tanks can probably chime in on this.

Basically, we need to keep Tenebron as parallel to Sartharion as possible - it's hard to do since we have only one person tanking both Tenebron and Sartharion (It'll be easier on 25, when we can have a separate tank for Sart and his buddy) and that way we have non-overlapping cones.

Without that, it's a matter of timing - once Tenebron is pulled, he makes a beeline for the tank, so we want to try and wait until he's come close to Sartharion's hitbox and then pull him. It'll be a little dicy if he tries to breathe on someone, but we'll see how it goes!

If I'm running across his belly from the right side to the left, is that in the range of his cleave?

I don't know :x I wouldn't die from a cleave, so I don't typically notice.

Across his belly is usually fine.

I kept thinking Tenebron is a she and Sartharion is a he... /random.

You guys aren't using a second tank for tenebron 10 man? I was under the impression that you still brought a second tank for that fight, even in 10 man. That way you can move sartharion to the front of the island, and tank tenebron where he lands. Not sure what you do about whelps, but with cooldowns etc I think you can down tenebron before the second wave of whelps anyway, so that shouldn't be too bad either.

Last time I was there, we used two tanks - one for Sartharion and Tenebron, and the other for the whelps and elementals.

I do not know how we'll handle two adds at this point. ^_^;
