I vote for extending. Based upon how we did last night...we still need to maximize our time on Putricide. If we start fresh, then we are already limiting ourselves. Even with the early start (although it really helped in terms of time for a fresh raid id), some people still had to leave before we got to him.
In terms of mains still needing gear...I'm sure there are mains that would still like a deaths verdict...If we wait until everyone has every single piece of gear off these early bosses, then we will be into Cataclysm. We have been clearing these bosses for 5 months...if you don't have that piece of gear by now...you might have to give up on it for this patch cycle...and is that piece for gear going to measurably improve the raid? I would say no IMO...while getting more attempts on Putricide will dramatically increase our chances of downing him as we get more practice....we can move onto the next progression boss!!!!
Just my opinion

One thing I've noticed while looking at the logs is that it'll be most valuable for us to bring our low DPS up to where the high DPS is, which is more of a tutelage issue than a gear/time issue.
Higher raid DPS will lead to fewer issues with the slimes in the first place, since slimes dying faster = way more margin for error.

Let me see... Loot I want.
Amulet of the Silent Eulogy - Gunship Armory
Crushing Coldwraith Belt - Lord Marrowgar
Plague Scientist's Boots - Festergut
Dislodged Foreign Object - Rotface
Corpse-Impaling Spike - Rotface
That's hardly a single drop from one boss. Not to mention that most of the above items are the chase items for most spell dps. Some of those items have dropped once, others not at all. Not to mention similar items I've gotten myself that other people were certainly interested in.
For all the 'five months' we've been clearing ICC, we have 16 Marrowgar kills, 14 Deathwhisper, 14 Gunship, 14 Deathbringer, 6 Rotface, 6 Festerguy, 4 Blood Prince, and 1 Putricide kill. Not to mention that we still only gotten 30 T10 tokens, which isn't even enough to begin our second go-around.
As Dom said, it's mostly about DPS. Or the lack thereof. We can practice a fight until the sun goes nova, but if the DPS isn't there, it's wasted time. Increasing DPS is a combination of people being able to play their class and better equipment. I'd personally rather continue getting some rewards for our efforts instead of attempting to wear the bosses down like the ocean wears down a stone.
If it comes down to it, we do have a second 'official' raid night. We can use Thursday to continue the 25m instance as we have done before in the name of progression. Heck, Tuesday we were at Putricide at 9:30. Sure, there were server issues leading up to that point, but most of our PP attempts weren't effected. If we went to our normal end time around 11, we would have had an hour and a half of further attempts.
Believe me, I'm interested in progression, but forcing ourselves to try something we're not currently capable of so we can move to the 'next progression boss' seems to be a bad move on our part. If we're really interested in progression, why don't we see about beating 10m ICC first. If we can't beat the raid on 10m, there's no way we're going to do it in 25.
In my view, I think it comes down to the fact that this is a family / friends guild, not a hardcore raiding guild. We're here to have fun with each other, playing a game that we like. Seeing and beating new content is great, but in some cases it just may not be feasible without putting relationships at risk. If we can get our DPS to the point where we can reasonably expect to 'progress', let's go for it. If not, let's at least let everyone continue get something new to improve their character.

Are we extending this week? I'd like to recommend that we do.

Oh we're raiding this week?
I seem to have forgotten it's Tuesday again! :O
I vote for not extending, for my own unselfish reason that needs not be explained.
BTW, we got another dps plate-wearer who needs those Bloods.

I finally picked up the quest for the bloods as well since we had several drop a couple runs back that nobody needed.

Though I may be in the group that advocates extending, the concensus (read: majority) is probably for a fresh run.
In which case a reminder that we *may* start clearing trash at 7pm (PST/server time) is in order. Though we started at like 7:30 last week (late), we were still at Marrowgar at 7:50, so don't dawdle!
Also, if you're like me and may bring an alt, have your main already at the instance portal, and don't wait till we're staring at the boss to switch- do it before the last trash pack, so that we're ready to go. Similarly, get those gems and enchants done sometime other than when we're staring at the boss, please. (Though we have said "moratorium" on those activities during raid, too.)

Ok, during the raid (which was fresh) it was said that next week (May the 25th) will be extended to get Putricide down (again) and then have that much more time on other fights.
I figured I'd post this here just to repeat that, have it as a reminder, and give people an opportunity to dissent.

Just me here, dissenting as usual.
DPS was down this week. If it was 'normal', we'd have been done with put by 9. If it's in the same place next week and we extend, we'll wipe all night with no rewards whatsoever.

We had an off night. It happens. I've been raiding a long time and I've seen them. The thing is to not let it get us down (which I don't think it is doing).
What we should do is look at the opportunity it provided us. Usually at the end of the night we're staring at either Blood Queen or Dreamwalker. If we extend, we are trading gearing up our guidlies for progression. We'll likely down our boss... maybe both(total awesomeness)... but on the other hand, we're looking at limited loot. It's a trade off.
The opportunity our off week provides us is a compromise on both. We'll walk in and squish putricide and get 2 marks. We can then go get some loot from the princes and spend half the night on BQ and spend some quality time on the 8 -> 16 transition which has caused us some issues... and then go have our healers go earn gold metals in the new Olympic sport of Dreamwalker Synchronized Portal Swimming.
We can spend quality time on progression without giving up all the loot we'd normally have to if we extend.
I vote we extend.
