Okay, so that confirms my surface research.

Cloth spirit = priest (spec independent)
Cloth no-spirit = mage, lock (spec independent)

That's one clarification, at least.

The gray area is those weapons/etc, and I think that the best idea for those slots is to say "hit is for DPS." Beyond that, still inviting more opinions.

I'd agree with that.

If it has hit, dps only
If it doesn't, up for grabs.

Which would mean healers would have the same prioriety on gear with no spirit.

I still dislike blizzards itemization, the same annoying stuff from LK, but that seems to work the best for our needs.

Does this include armor that has a subtype like Cloth, Leather and Mail or are we only talking about the shared items like rings, necklaces, backs, and weapons?

Tangential to this discussion - there's a lot of overlap between DPS plate and tanking plate now, due to Mastery. Here's a breakdown:

Dodge rating: Tank stat
Parry rating: Tank stat
Hit rating: Shared
Expertise rating: Shared
Mastery rating: Shared
Crit rating: DPS stat
Haste rating: DPS stat

So if it has a DPS stat, it goes to DPS, and if it has a tank stat, it goes to tanks, and if it has two Shared stats, then it goes open - does that sound fair?

This looks fine to me.

I'm not sure where the Hit Cap is at for boomkins nowadays, but I know I usually don't roll on spirit gear and DO roll on Hit gear. I'm cool with letting healers roll on the spirit gear first.

I also find myself rountinely running out of mana, so, I have to wonder if I need to re-route some of my points into mana conservation/regen talents UNTIL my mana regenerates sufficiently enough for my spellcasting rotation.

Right now, I've been concentrating on just replacing any old LK gear I still have to get to the point I can DPS in Heroics. It would be great if someone could point me to a spot where I can see where I need to be as a boomkin raid wise, so I can accurately roll/reforge items that I obtain, so I can be most effective.

Tsukiki is still going to be my main and DPS spec. I am slowly leveling up Mamoru to have a tank to do normals/heroics to get people geared up on their mains.

Anyway, any enlightenment would be nice with a new expansion....new caps, new everything. :)

Thanks!

There is currently no +hit/+int leather armor in the game, and very few other items in general that are +hit/+int.

It was Blizzard's design goal to eliminate the difference between dps/heal caster gear. They want a larger pool of people to roll on each item that drops. So there really is not such a clearly defined thing as "resto" gear anymore.

Yeah - it's not "boomkin gear" and "resto druid gear" anymore. Now they have "Leather int gear" and the same piece can be rolled on by two specs instead of being used by 1 spec of 30 in the game.
