It looks like the Labor Day SchadenBBQ is off - none of the socallers can make it, which cuts down a lot of the reason we wanted a big event and not just "Dom and Cliff and Andy and Danny a few other people hanging out like usual."

SO! How does Memorial Day weekend next year sound? Or... hmm, I'm staffing Fanime that weekend, so maybe a different weekend...

Standard holidays people get off:

Ones which may be too cold:

Getting into Summer:
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day

Once again, weather turning a wee bit chilly:
Veterans day
Thanksgiving
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas

We can toss Thanksgiving/Christmas because it's family time and Memorial day due to fanime.

Options:
1) If we want to try and keep it this year, we'll have to go with a non-holiday weekend in Sept (unless it gets too cold). This will be difficult for people who need to travel
2) If we want a holiday weekend next summer, I'd say Independence Day looks promising.
3) Hold some sort of non-bbq indoors event. This would remove the summer-time restriction.

I'd offer my townhouse for an indoor event, but I don't think it's large enough. I don't think I could hold more than maybe 10-12ppl before it would just get too crowded.

I personally prefer a non-holiday weekend just to make traveling a bit easier, but I'll try to make it whatever weekend it is on.
