What I've found about the little oozes is that they can't be taunted and the aggro just doesn't want to stick to me. According to some cursory research, if you spawn it, you kite it, and I deal with the big one. When the slime that targeted you merges in, you can go back to DPS.

This means the OT can beat on the boss until 2 oozes have spawned, and that whoever gets the first ooze will have to kite it themselves until a second one is spawned and merged.

According to additional research: not only can they not be taunted, they spawn with 500k threat on whoever had the mutation. That means they'll never come off of you until they've been absorbed into the slime collective.

And they spawn when you get hit by the vomit from Rotface?

no: they spawn when the debuff he puts on a random raider ends. The vomit, in theory, should not hit anyone (100% avoidable if everyone keeps on their toes)
